Our History

Frink Baptist Church was started as an “arm” or mission of Poplar Head Baptist Church.

Services were first held June 6, 1893 in Pitts School which was a one room log house. Pitts School was located just north of Juniper Creek on the right hand side of the road. At the close of service that day five people came forward when the invitation was given and accepted Christ as their Savior. For the next six months the church grew and many came to know the Lord. On January 9, 1894, Poplar Head church made a motion that all the members withdraw and Juniper Creek Baptist Church was organized. The services were held in a vacant house south of Juniper Creek for some time. The Church then moved to the present location and a Brush Arbor was put up on an acre of land deeded by Mr. Wade Leonard.

In 1917 the first building was started. Several of the members traveled the community on horse and buggy to collect donations for the new building. Rev Judah was pastor at that time.

In the early 1900’s the Church was in the Rocky Creek Baptist Association and the name was changed to Frink Baptist Church. The Church was later in the West Florida Association. The Pastor at that time was W.T. Davis. At the present we are in the Apalachee Baptist Association.

In 1954 five Sunday School rooms were built of cement block. The pastor then was Rev Otis Walden. Since that time we have made many improvements such as paneling, new lights, carpeting, padded pews, air conditioning, new piano, etc. Three of the Sunday School rooms have been made into a parsonage.

It would be impossible to name all the dedicated Christians who have worked so hard over the years to make it possible for us to have the church we worship in today.
